CAFES Extended Education

Extended Education

Increasing access to the intellectual resources and programs.

The mission of Extended Education is to increase access to the intellectual resources and programs of Cal Poly for the larger regional, state, and national community. This is accomplished on a daily basis through lifelong learning opportunities including Open University, Special Session Degree Programs, distance learning courses, professional development certificates, and personal development programs. The Center for Sustainability collaborates with Extended Education to offer special programs for the general public that require registration.

Farmer Experiential Education and Development (F.E.E.D.)

Cal Poly’s FEED program is an intensive 12-week certificate program designed to immerse students in a hands-on learning experience that will introduce them to the knowledge, skills and tools required to become successful ag professionals while also providing mentorship throughout the first year post-training to create a foundation for long-term success. FEED is approved for military veterans to apply VA benefits toward cost of the program. Scholarships are also available. The first session ran from September 5 - December 8, 2017. For more information about this unique educational opportunity for military veterans and beginner farmers, please visit: http://feed.calpoly.edu/
